Tioman Island

Tioman Island (or Pulau Tioman, as it is known locally) is one of Malaysia most popular island, where the white sand beaches overhung by towering palm trees are lapped by clear, calm, and warm water teeming with all sorts of tropical marine life.

For most of the year the weather is beautiful and do expect hot sun and cooling winds on the coast (most of the rain falls inland) but during the period from November until February, the monsoon season, most resorts and hotels will be closed.

Getting There

  • 2 and a half hours from Singapore to Mersing Jetty, Malaysia, by bus
  • 2 and a half hours from Mersing to Tioman Island, by ferry
  • or 1 hour from Mersing to Tioman Island, by speedboat

Resorts and Beaches

There many resorts and beaches on Tioman Island but the common ones that Gill Divers visits are

  • Salang Village

    Salang village located at northwest of Tioman island. It has one of the beautiful beaches around. It is adjacent to Monkey bay, marine park and Tulai Island. Facilities available at the resort includes mini market, 3 scuba shops, jet ski, canoe, souvenir shop and many restaurants.

  • Genting Village

    Genting village mix fishing villages and resorts. Most of the resorts located at a hilly side thus illustrates a splendid sea view. Facilities at the village includes mini market, scuba shop, souvenir shop and many restaurants.

Before you visit Gill Divers personally to complete the registration (ideally 1 week before the intended trip), please complete the following forms.

  • Personal and Rental Information (Register Online)
  • PADI Liability Form (Print Form)

And also bring along

  • Two (2) passport sized photos (if you are taking a course)
  • Deposit of $150.00 to confirm your placement (Cancellation policy)
